Open House/Governing Board Meeting

You're invited to an Open House

The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 for an Open House in the Galleria at the Oregon State Capitol from 8 AM until 5 PM. Many of our staff, management, and governing board members will be available throughout the day to answer question and show you the great work our department is doing on behalf of the state. We will have a variety of displays, handouts, geologic equipment and publications on hand as well.

Our Governing Board will have its quartery meeting on the 9th as well and the public is invited to attend. The Board Meeting will be held at 9:00 AM at the Oregon State Library Building, 250 Winter Street, Room 103, in Salem. Contact James Roddey at (971) 673-1555 x242 for more information.

The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries is headquartered in Portland and is an independent agency of the State. It has a broad responsibility in developing a geologic and engineering understanding of natural hazards, then applying this information to help mitigate the risks of earthquakes, landslides, floods, and tsunamis. The Department is also the lead state regulatory and reclamation agency for mining, oil, natural gas and geothermal exploration and production.
